Yesterday, at conference, all 9 lovely ladies who ran pr'd. That's right, every single one of us! Prs ranged from 14 seconds up to an astounding 244 seconds (way to go Kathleen!!!!) I personally am happy to say that I finally ran a sub-30 5k...and then ran that last 1,ooo meters :) Thanks Karl - no fluke.
The roots of our success? I'm fairly certain it all hinged on Emily's awesome pep talk - that was our defining moment. The beautiful colored pictures we received only added to our excitement. And I suppose I should give the guys' team a shout out for being there at the start, and cheering hard throughout the race.
But I really just wanted to say how proud I am of all of us. We fought for our season, ladies! Through drama, stressful lives, fatigue, crappy commons food, not wanting to run, and still-wet loop laundry; through morning practice, almost vomit-inducing nerves, tears, cross training, endless training room visits, and people coming and going, we were there for each other every step of the way.
I'm still not sure I can say I love running, but I know that I love these runners: Lauren Hall, Gabbie, Sofie, Claire, Emily, Elizabeth, Rika, Kathleen, and Lauren Bentley. Thanks girls, for making it all worth the while.
