Shoes?

Shelley posted about the book "Born to Run," advocating barefoot running, a while back.

Karl told me about research Nike has been doing for decades that say more cushioning = more impact.

Anne just showed me an article she found about a new study in Nature about barefoot running and its benefit over cushioned running shoes about an hour ago.

And then it came up on my "Science news" box in igoogle:

So who's up for a barefoot run in 12 degree Wisconsin windchill? Anyone? Ok great, see you all at practice :-)

(But seriously. Stop making us buy $100 shoes if they're bad for us!)

I am not down with a barefoot run in Wisconsin but have heard the beaches of Mexico are pretty great for barefoot running. If you want to come join me. And do let me know how the track season is going. I miss it so but I did find a 10 k to run in next sunday.

I love the barefoot running, in healthy moderation of course.
